SS316L stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum. Its characteristics are:
Low carbon content: SS316L has a low carbon content, which can reduce the material’s tendency to intergranular corrosion during welding and improve overall corrosion resistance
Corrosion resistance: SS316L has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in acidic, alkaline and chloride environments. It is suitable for applications that require high corrosion resistance, such as chemical industry, marine environment, and food processing equipment.
Low temperature toughness: Due to the influence of low carbon content, SS316L has good toughness at low temperatures and can maintain its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in low temperature environments.
High temperature performance: SS316L has good high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, and can maintain relatively stable performance in high temperature environments.
Non-magnetic: SS316L is a non-magnetic material and has advantages in some special applications, such as electronic equipment, magnetic field sensitive devices, etc.
Heat treatment: SS316L stainless steel can be improved by heat treatment to improve its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Common heat treatment methods include solution treatment and tempering annealing
