SS316L (00Cr17Ni14Mo2) is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel with the following characteristics:
Corrosion resistance
Contains molybdenum (2.00%-3.00%), and exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in chloride environments, especially suitable for marine environments and chemical industries. It has good corrosion resistance to sulfurous acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid and other media, and remains stable at high temperatures (871-899℃).
Mechanical properties
Tensile strength ≥485 MPa, yield strength ≥170 MPa, elongation ≥40%, hardness ≤187 HB. No carbide precipitation in the temperature range of 425-870℃, normal welding will not reduce corrosion resistance.
Application scenarios
Widely used in chemical equipment (such as pipelines, containers), marine engineering (such as hulls, propellers), medical equipment and food processing. Avoid long-term heating at sensitization temperature (above 425℃) to prevent carbide precipitation and reduce corrosion resistance
