316L Stainless steel pipe tube

316L stainless steel belongs to austenitic stainless steel. The structure of austenitic stainless steel is face-centered cubic lattice, non-magnetic, and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. Its strength can only be improved by cold working strengthening. Austenitic stainless steel has corrosion resistance, good plasticity and toughness at room and low temperatures, is easy to form, and has good weldability. It is the most widely used in industry. Its output accounts for about 70% of stainless steel output. Its products include plates, bars, steel pipes, steel strips, steel wires and forgings, etc.

Corrosion resistance
The addition of molybdenum makes it perform well in chloride ion environments (such as seawater and chemical media), and its resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and uniform corrosion is better than 304 stainless steel. Especially in environments with sulfuric acid concentrations below 15% or above 85%, the corrosion resistance is significantly enhanced. ‌

Mechanical properties
‌Strength and processing‌: Strength can be improved by cold processing (such as rolling and stretching), but it cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
‌Tensile strength‌: Higher than ordinary 304 stainless steel, suitable for scenes with greater pressure. ‌

Applicable scenarios
‌Industrial environment‌: Marine engineering, chemical equipment (containing sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and other media), coastal building exterior materials.
‌Special working conditions‌: Papermaking equipment, heat exchangers, piping systems, and industrial scenes that require high corrosion resistance. ‌

Processing characteristics
‌Weldability‌: Standard welding methods can be used, and no annealing treatment is required after welding.
High temperature performance: It is resistant to oxidation when used intermittently below 1600℃ or continuously below 1700℃, but long-term use should be avoided in the range of 800-1575℃
